Kaos is a print newspaper that I circulated and designed in the school for Kpop fans. Kpop is an industry growing at a rapid rate and was intrigued that an eastern centred industry can breakthrough the western market without even needing to speak English. The global Kpop industry is a multi- billion dollar industry. The K-pop Events Market size was valued at USD 13.28 Billion in 2024 and the total K-pop Events revenue is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.5% from 2025 to 2032, reaching nearly USD 23.69 Billion.
This newspaper would be more than a newspaper, I angled more to the fan side of kpop. Using artistic representations (made by fans) of their favourite artists and printed fanfics in the paper. I realised that Kpop was not only about the stars in the west but about a community that brought these fans together. All was buried in obscure internet accounts and fanpages. I wanted the newspaper to have a following that centred fans based on their love of kpop. I included merchandise and branding that would be recognisable to "your people".
